The Exchange (Jason and Percy)

The Exchange (Jason and Percy)

So I’ve started reading the whole series over again because every time I read them I think of different things – Different endings, different interpretations of the prophecy and the different reasons why Jason and Percy swapped places (Ignoring the fact that it was Hera/ Juno who did it)

Some of my ideas were:

1.  Both Jason and Percy are sons of the Big Three (and since they are the same age it means that they were both born breaking the rule – unless it didn’t exist to the gods in their Roman forms)

2.  Both of them built up good reputations for what they fought for. Percy made good reputations for children from the big three (Nico and himself) and made a good name for demi-gods. While, Jason build up good reputations for the Fifth Cohort and to some extent children of the big three (Hazel and himself)

3.  Also I thought the Fates could have set it up so that the children of Zeus joined forces because that could be needed to defeat the giants rising and free Hera/ Juno.

4.  Finally, they both have strong powers from their dads. Like the fact that Jason can control the winds and to some extent, fly, while Thalia can’t. And Percy can summon water where there isn’t much or sometimes when there is none at all. Whereas Tyson can just ignore fire and is kind of indestructible, which to be far Percy was when he swam in the river Styx.

What do you think? Why do you think Jason and Percy swapped places, or what did you think when you didn’t know why?

As usual, have a great day all.
